Accredited Learning: ASDAN Short Course Award

ASDAN is a pioneering curriculum development organisation and awarding body, offering programmes and qualifications that explicitly grow skills for learning, skills for employment and skills for life. Basti Ram are an accredited ASDAN centre and are able to deliever the Short Course Award.

Some short course awards are:

• International 
• Volunteering 
• Citizenship
• Environmental 
• Geography 
• History 
• Leadership
• Peer Mentoring 

On our Beyond Boundaries project all of the young people complete an ASDAN Short Course Award.

As a flexible, multi-level award, it provides a stand-alone certificate of achievement, as well as the opportunity for progression to qualifications such as AoPE, CoPE or Wider Key Skills. Credits from the Short Course can count as up to half the curriculum requirements of the Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE), which has GCSE equivalence at Levels 1 and 2, and is worth an AS Level at Level 3. It also provides the curriculum for the Award of Personal Effectiveness (AoPE) which carries league table point’s equivalent to half a GCSE.
